AbateLocal is a local service directory operated by Laced Labs. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Business listing information. We compile directory listings (business names, contact details, services, and ratings) from publicly available sources so people can find and compare local providers.
• Information you give us. If you submit a contact or suggestion form, claim a listing, or create a provider account, we collect what you provide (such as your name, email, phone, and business details).
• Reviews. When you submit a review, we collect your star rating, your review text, a name, and an email address. We publicly display only your first name and last initial (for example, "Bill R."). Your email is used only to confirm the review and to prevent abuse. It is never shown publicly, never shared with the business, and never sold.
• Sign in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google to leave a review, Google shares your name and email address with us so we can verify the review is genuine. We handle that email the same way (verification and abuse prevention only, never shown or shared).
• Automatic information. We use privacy-first web analytics and standard server logs to understand site usage and keep the service secure. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

How we use information

• To operate and improve the directory.
• To verify and publish reviews, and to detect spam or abuse.
• To respond to your inquiries and to let providers manage their listings.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the site (for example, Cloudflare for hosting and analytics, Resend for email, and Google for optional sign-in), and only as needed to provide the service. Published reviews (your rating, text, and first name plus last initial) are public by nature.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service. A reviewer's email is retained while the review is live because it is how we verify authenticity and handle disputes. You can ask us to remove your information at any time.

Your choices

You can contact us to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Providers can respond publicly to reviews on their listing, but cannot delete or hide a review (you can flag a review for our team to look at).

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent change.
